DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT INFORMATION AND CONSENT REGARDING THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA APPLICANTS MUST READ THIS STATEMENT BEFORE SENDING THE APPLICATION FORM AND CV
GECI International, having its registered office at 105 bis bd Malesherbes 75 008 Paris respectively the data controller, the processor and screening body responsible for the processing of personal data which is the object of the present statement with regard to job applications, shall process personal data submitted to GECI by an electronic form. Applicants may be asked to voluntarily provide their résumé, curriculum vitae or other personal information such as name, email address, postal address, telephone number and other information regarding past employment (hereinafter referred to as 'Personal Data'). The Personal
Data to be provided by job applicants or by subjects acting on their behalf is obligatory.
In the event that consent is withheld or Personal Data not provided, GECI International may reject job applications, such Personal Data being required to evaluate candidates during the assessment and recruitment process as well as to contact and correspond with them to respond to such applications. Furthermore, should applicants be employed by GECI International or any of it subsidiary, all Personal Data will be incorporated into a Personal Data file and may be used for the purposes of employee administration (including payrolls, pensions, work management and other employee-related matters).
Personal Data is shared within GECI International departments for operational reasons (for example, to evaluate applicants suitability) and may be transmitted internationally to companies within the GECI International Group that operate outside the EEA. GECI International hereby declares that it is satisfied that the appropriate technological and organisational safeguards are in place in the overseas establishments within the GECI International Group and that these are equal to or greater than those required under the Data Protection Act 1998.
Such Personal Data may also be disclosed to external agencies where GECI International has a legal obligation to inform such agencies and, in the event of employment, to tax departments, loan companies, local authorities, etc.
With respect to the processing of Personal Data carried out by GECI International, applicants and employees maintain the rights granted to Data Subjects in accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998, such as, in particular, the right to receive confirmation as to the existence or non-existence of such Personal Data, the manner in which such Personal Data is used, the right to obtain the communication, in an understandable form, of the processed Personal Data and of their origin, together with information regarding the motives for processing such Personal Data. Applicants may also request that such data is removed should they not be employed by GECI International, updated or otherwise modified or that such Personal Data be made anonymous.
If job applicants do not wish GECI International to use their Personal Data for such purposes, they should not apply for job vacancies with GECI International. This Policy will be updated from time to time in order to incorporate any new or revised codes of conduct or future amendments to national/international legislation and Data Subjects will be notified of the changes wherever possible.
The Web Site and database are hosted in France and GECI International will use its best endeavours to ensure that Personal Data is kept secure, in particular, that access to such Personal Data will be secured and password protected at all times, the access profile being made available to the GECI International Data Protection Officer and authorised personnel only.
